Sparkle Sheffield is a local Sheffield charity which provides support for families with autistic children and young people.
The brief for this project was to work with Sparkle Sheffield to design something that could raise awareness about stimming.
Stimming is something that many autistic people do as a form of self regulating their emotions and to process their sensory environment, but many non-autistic people may not understand what is happening, and automatically perceive it as being weird, violent or disruptive, when it isn't. Raising awareness could help autistic people feel more comfortable and confident to stim in public

"The Wonderful World of Stimming" an educational tool that educators can use to teach people about stimming. This tool is a pack of cards that helps an educator create a fun educational card game that goes through a day in a life of an autistic child. These cards have various scenarios that the class/group need to react, discuss and to and decide the appropriate response. The educator decides the outcome of the scenario and discusses with the class why that outcome happened.
